Advice That Stuck Part 1

A long time ago my job at the time sent me away for some sort of course. My memories are vague on what it was about or why I went.

All I can tell you is that the guy running it was in his 50’s and he had worked very hard, so much that he had ignored his family. He had some adult children as well as a young daughter with a new partner and talked about being more present this time around for her.

He talked about random things on top of whatever else we were there for.

2 things stood out for me and I still remember all these years later. This post covers the first piece of advice he dropped on us.

“People’s perception is their reality”

This line sticks with me in all sorts of situations. It helps reframe dealing with anyone in any situation. It's also one thing that's stuck with me for many years.

I've found it helps with all sorts of scenarios. From in person to online. You sometimes wonder how someone could do or say something.

Not everyone's reality is the right one. Everyone can perceive things differently.

It just helps to remember that.
