Weekend Stuff
I was just remembering about how blogging used to be about what you were up to and not about blogging, or anything like that, mainly because we knew nothing different.
This being busy and being stressed thing at work really seems to make the weekend appear a lot sooner. Time is flying by. Soon it will be Christmas and talks about what to buy for who will come about.
We went and saw my parents yesterday. They seemed OK, but Dad said to S that Mum was getting worse with being forgetful etc. I'm not sure where she falls in the forgetfulness, combined with if Dad is dramatising a little bit.
But these visits result in work updates from us. Fixing or answering whatever mobile or tech issue they seem to be having since the last time we saw them.
Not sure if I mentioned this in the past, but I did end up getting a metal detector. So had that with me. Only problem was that it was starting to rain.
My goal is to go all over Mum and Dad's place. They've been there 42 years, so who knows what you will find. This trip, I found parts of an old toy truck, a couple of old coins and a cast iron type lid which I think goes on an old woodburning stove.
One day I'll go down the road to where events used to be held back in the day and see what I discover.
Then on to today. Trying to get tasks off of the task list.
It does sometimes feel like it's all stuff directed from other people and not exactly thing I would want to be doing.
Examples would be cutting down some problematic trees in the back corner of our backyard as it causes some sort of problem with our elderly neighbour.
Following up with the brother in law so I can fix his Google ads account that stopped working. He hadn't noticed for a year.
Other tasks are related to the event I help out with.
So yeah, another weekend almost gone.
New worker starting at work tomorrow. I get to onboard them and hopefully offload them to another member of my team so I can carry on with other things.
