Over time I find some tools or things that I really like. Things that might only do one job, but for me they do it very well. Maybe something here will help you. For now these are all windows based tools.

FastStone Capture - A great screen capture tool with great markup ability plus a lot more. Use this daily.

Caesium Image Compressor A great free tool to compress images with and even resize them. Took me a while to find a decent tool, this is it. Also has an online version as well.
